Eros-7 is a member of the Eros family of loudspeakers focused on dynamics and detail. This loudspeaker model still exploits the strength of the typical mid-bass range of the Eros series, while the mid-range and high-range are refined to achieve the sophistication and fidelity of the sound. Mid-high and high-range are the outstanding advantages of this loudspeaker model.

The Eros-7, like the other models in the Eros series, was developed with the goal of building a versatile and efficient loudspeaker ecosystem in sound reproduction applications, from use for home audio systems, participate in performance sound system solutions in large concert halls and this model can also be used as a reference speaker, monitoring in studios and music productions. The Eros-7 enjoys this great versatility thanks to its accurate and realistic sound reproduction with a very good frequency range from 35Hz – 20kHz (-3dB).

The important technical solution characteristics and their efficiency in the sound reproduction

* The minimalism of the crossover and its efficiency in signal transmission, preserving the energy, dynamics and detail of the sound.

ThivanLabs’ sound and engineering philosophy emphasizes limiting the impact on the audio signal path to the speaker to preserve energy and sound accuracy when emitted from the speaker. Accordingly, the drivers have been carefully selected and fine-tuned to meet our requirements for sound reproduction. The Eros-7 still prioritizes using 1st order crossovers. By choosing the optimum cut-off between the tweeter and the woofer, the 1st-order crossover makes the crossover point between the two speakers extremely smooth, while preserving the detail and smoothness of the sound and the musicality of the music.

The tweeter is arranged at a height suitable to the listener’s ear in the listening position, especially when sitting on a sofa to optimize the high frequency range of 10-20kHz to the listener’s ears fully and delicately. This reasonable calculation has made Eros 7 create an airy, soaring, giant sound stage like at the theater.

* Composition and structure: The proportions and construction of the cabinet as well as the optimized components, respectively used and matched together truly bring out the efficiency and full of the sound.

The structure of the new generation Eros speaker models is designed with a very solid cabinet structure and construction. The speaker cabinet is 25mm thick. This “solidity” helps the speakers achieve the most effective anti-vibration. As a result, sound details are reproduced in detail and distortion is very low for the entire audio frequency range.

The vent is located at the bottom of the speaker, facing the floor. Along with calculating the right ratio between cabinet volume, vent size and other important components, this position really makes the bass spread in all directions. The bass will always be full in the listening room space without being affected much by the loudspeaker placement. This creates flexibility for setup in many different listening room sizes.

The new design of loudspeaker stand is one of the important improvements for our new generation loudspeaker models with a wide horizontal design to the sides, creating four large, solid speaker legs. The speaker legs are designed to be thick, hard and solid. Each side of the speaker legs is equipped with a large rubber foot, which helps the speaker stand firmly on the floor, providing extremely good damping when operating at high power. As a result, the high and mid-high range sound is clear and coherent. While the bass range is poised, warm and round, completely eliminating the external influences affecting sound quality. So despite using 12-inch drivers, the bass is still as energetic as large 15-inch drivers.

Versatility and variety of uses

Versatility and various of use is the goal and a new product development mindset of ThivanLabs. Accordingly, each model has its own strengths suitable for specific listening room areas. In addition to being used separately, it can be combined with other models in the Eros series to meet performance and amplify sound in large auditorium up to 400m2.

If used separately, Eros-7 is suitable for rooms from 16m2 to 30m2. Power amplifiers from 8W or more pair well with the Eros-7. For valve amps, amps using 6H13C PP, 811 SE, 300B SE, 211 SE, 805 SE, EL34 PP, KT 88 PP tubes drive this loudspeaker well.

The Eros-7 is “small but mighty”, which can operate continuously at a capacity of 100W RMS, so they can be used in conjunction with other models in the Eros loudspeaker ecosystem to amplify the sound of the instrument and vocals in concerts in large auditoriums. Through tests in an auditorium of 200 guests, Eros-7 in collaboration with Eros-12 performed very impressively, enhancing the dynamics and details of the sound, especially for the high and mid-high range. The sound from this speaker system can cover the entire auditorium, in the farthest places the sound is still full, clear, detailed and vivid. In this combination solution, the Eros-7 pairs well with a 150W valve amplifier.

With a very flat frequency range and very good detail, the Eros 7 speaker presents high fidelity sound, which can also be used as a very effective Monitor speaker. Accordingly, music creators, music production studios can easily detect excess or missing frequency bands of instruments or vocals.

Eros-7 has very high sensitivity and dynamics, so in addition to expressing music very genuinely, the sound effects in movies are also performed very impressive and stimulating to the listener. Therefore, this is also a good pair of loudspeakers for movie systems in small and medium listening rooms under 30m2.
